It's all good.

Today is not Monday...

... even thought I thought it was all day long, to the point that I even thought I knew what soup the cafeteria would be serving, and was disappointed and confused to see vegetable and cream of broccoli on display instead of beef stew and chicken noodle.

I have almost recovered from my confusion now, even though I did go grocery shopping this evening, which usually happens on a Monday. I was pleasantly surprised to find mixed salad greens on the shelves at the Superstore, and I bought them, and now I am extremely upset to discover that they are rotten and smelly. NOw I have to go all the way back into the store to get my money back.

I totally kleenexed my laundry this evening. I expect to spend tomorrow night with my lint brush.

Beware the hooded thug

Last night I had the same nightmare three times. I dreamed I intercepted a thug in a white hoodie as he vandalized a car in the parking lot of my apartment building. He then proceeded to come after me and shot me as I stood on my apartment balcony (first clue that this was a dream: I don't have a balcony). Sometimes I fell off the balcony. Sometimes I saw him come after me with a knife. Sometimes he would stalk me from his white car. It was pretty freaky. I would even wake up, tell myself I was having a bad dream, fall asleep and start a new dream, only to have Hoodie show up again.

I actually mustered enough energy to go for a run today. I've decided to start the couch to 5K routine again. I even found a podcast that has music and a guy telling you when to walk and when to run. It's unfortunate that I spent the whole time looking over my shoulder for the hooded man.

Oh Monday

Oh Monday, why must you be so busy?

Well, it was just work that was busy today. But, after my three hour nap yesterday, I got less than ideal sleep last night, so I was not exactly in my best form today. I did manage to pull myself together enough to make pizza dough from scratch for tonight's supper, and then I forced myself out for groceries for the rest of the week. I even found a new recipe to try tomorrow night.

But that's all I had in me, I'm afraid. My summer holiday recap is coming, I promise.

Day of rest

I did not go home this weekend. I felt I needed some resting time. Gallivanting all over the country can be very tiring, and I needed to recharge my batteries before the last few fabulous weeks of summer. The nice thing was, Michelle was in town for the weekend, so I didn't have to spend the weekend completely on my own, which, as you know, makes me go a little crazy.

Today I was unbelievably lazy. I slept in until 11, went to church, spent a few hours lounging in bed, and then napped for three hours. I had pancakes for supper. Now I'm eating popcorn.

All is good.

Me wanty

I found this at the CBC online shop. I love it. Love. It. It has a flap, it says CBC, and it's retro.
It's now going on my list of things I want, which also includes a new set of dishes, matching drinking glasses, season 1 of Heroes on DVD, and new eyeglasses.

You know you've been away from home for a long time when...

... not only does the bread you left on the counter not not go stale, it sprouts several mold colonies.

Oh, methinks me needs sleep.

12 of 12 - August 2007

Well, what a week full of adventures this has been. I've been in Ottawa since Tuesday, and today I drove back to Fredericton. It's a 12 of 12 road trip! I just got back, and it's quite late, so I'm just posting really quickly and heading to bed.

10:40 a.m. Good morning, Ottawa!

11:15 a.m. All this week I've been staying at mel's place. We had such blast this week, and this is her 12 of 12 debut! Here she is doing important newspapery business.

12:08 p.m. Pit stop #1: somewhere in Ontario.

1:04 p.m. Driving through Montreal. I almost got side-swiped by a cab driver.

2:16 p.m. There are signs everywhere in Quebec for this poor missing girl.

3:38 p.m. I decided to take a "quick" detour into Quebec City.

4:14 p.m. About half an hour later, I was downtown. And then I almost got run over by a horse and carriage.

5:00 p.m. My detour ate up valuable travel time, so I suppered on candy.

6:30 p.m. Pit stop #2: just outside Riviere de Loup.

8:45 p.m. Zooming by Edmundston, NB.

9:22 p.m. Somewhere around Grand Falls, I think. It's getting dusky and moosey and deery.

10:08 p.m. It was too dark to take pictures of the outside, and right after this, my camera battery died. I got home about an hour later. And now, it's time for sleep.

No, I'm not dead.

Just busy. What with working all week and then commuting home to PEI every weekend, the summer has been very busy so far. And then there was Harry Potter 7. And it's been hot, did I mention that summer is hot??

But this weekend, I'm anticipating a weekend o' fun with my dearest Rosey, who is coming to visit me. And then on Monday I'm taking off for another grand Upper Canada adventure to visit mel and Catherine. Yay for road trips!
